Mumsnet and Pearson College have teamed up in order to create a new online business course that lasts eight weeks and is designed to help entrepreneur mothers learn how to get a hand up on their own business. The course will be offered for the first time in April and the initial charge will be £299 plus the VAT in order to access the online tutorials. Also included in the course packed is a dedicated tutor and live streamed lectures.
The aim of the course is to teach students the essentials that they need to know about marketing, the essentials of new business start-up, and how to sharpen their financial prowess. Co-founder of Mumsnet Justine Roberts stated that the idea of beginning a business on your own can be daunting for just about everyone so they are very pleased that Pearson College has teamed up with them in order to offer a practical course that will cover all of the essentials that need to be covered when setting up a business.
Roberts continued to say that the online course is very flexible and it allows consumers to work on the coursework whenever it best suits them. For busy moms that are juggling all types of different tasks this is very important. Near the end of the course there is also a weekend conference that is optional that allows students to pitch ideas to other entrepreneurs to help them get some funding or at least some guidance where their business is concerned.
Managing director for Pearson College, Roxanne Stockwell, stated that they are the only FTSE 100 company in the higher education sector making them the perfect partner for Mumsnet. She added that whether students are looking to return to work start their own business the course will help them to develop new skills.
